Thoughts on Seeds

Today is a day of contemplation. Bridging themes and understanding how the work I am attempting to do fits in the bigger scheme of what is happening in the world.

And it all starts with planting seeds.

Seeds of hope

Seeds of connection

Seeds of love

Seeds of encouragement

Seeds of determination

I see now that seeds are not small. They are massive. They represent the ecosystem of our lives and we have passed them over. We have focused on the product they produce and have forgotten the process . . . and the beginning.

The work I have been called to is bigger than a course, a book, or a coaching call . . . it is to build a community. A community of individuals looking to grow and expand their human potential and therefore the potential of humanity. We are at a significant juncture, a point of crisis, and how we navigate from here is critical in how the earth continues to exist, how the seeds of the earth persist, and how the survival of humanity as nourishing, connected human beings continues.

When thinking about my intention for Seeds to be the theme for the work within the Creative Seeds Circle this month I wasn’t sure it was strong or bold enough for what I felt was happening in the world and our lives. And then, as I went back and visited some of the material I studied in the development of my book Seeds of Potentiality I was reminded that seeds are at the core of everything and they are one of the most powerful themes that exists.

I was brought back to a book my dad read and gifted to me while helping edit my book Seeds of Potentiality. It is called Sacred Seed . . . it is a compilation of essays by great spiritual leaders and coordinated by Dr. Vandana Shiva of Vandanya. Her vision is to preserve the sacred seed lineage in a time when we are losing biodiversity. Her work is essential yet underrated. And she paired with the Global Peace Initiative of Women in producing this book. Seeds are not small. They are the essential beginning. Reconnecting with this book brought recognition that communities and groups around the world are trying to preserve our ecosystems and promote peace.

Peace, on both a personal level and global political level is essential to our survival.

We start with ourselves and learn how to find peace in our daily lives. We start here with the seeds of potentiality within. And as these seeds grow their life force, their energy, their vitality are spread in the wind and all the wonderful ways seeds spread. And they produce new growth and new ways of being in the world.
